Okay tv but didn't last long

Worked fine and quailty of pictures was excellent. However, after about 5 years of use the tv would randomly stop running causing the screen to freeze. I feel the quality in Samsung products do not seem to last long. I hope they improve the durability of their products otherwise they will gain a bad reputation .

Brilliant Efficient Bedroom TV

An unbelievable superb lcd tv. Has a very stylish design. This is the perfect size for a bedroom. It is one of the most energy efficient tvs out there at this size. Picture quality is next to non when watching high definition tv or movies through the one of many hdmi inputs. Has many different setting/options for you to play around to get the best picture sound for your viewing. It is very simple to set up and use. Great for watching movies, but even better for playing your ps3 or xbox on.

What is really great about this tv is that is uses hardly any power at all. It has the option for you to adjust your tv efficiency, such as backlight, which will help to reduce the energy it ues to run.

Highly recommend this tv for an average size bedroom.

I own a 40 inch LCD Series 5. I've always loved Samsung picture quality. At any store that stocks televisions you can see the difference. You can connect to the internet to upgrade the software. The menu features are easy to understand and setup. The 'any-net' system inside communicates with the hdmi devices so that if you turn the blu-ray player off or on, it turns the tv off or on with it. There are enough inputs to setup any kind of viewing from hdmi, rca, component, and even computers. This is my first larger television and i'm never switching to any other brand.

I purchased the Samsung Series 5 32' as a second television for our dining room. This is my 3rd Samsung Television and have been happy with their performance and reliability. I recommend doing some research into pricing as the stores will reduce their prices. The remote works extremely well over long distances. The automatic setup program takes all the effort out of tuning and the menu isn't too bad once you get use to it. It will locate devises like game consuls, DVD players etc automatically. I's not hard to operate just needs getting use to. The reception is good as I am located approximately 50kms from Sydney and get all the channels clearly only drops out here and there when the weather's bad.

Terrible

Have had it back once to the service centre with no success.Lost all our presets though and had to reprogram. Had to take it to our nearest centre (1hours drive) and leave it there for the day. It is a PITA because now that hasn't worked i have to take it back again and leave it as it will take 2 days to fix. Also the service contract has changed since the last time so now i have to take it somewhere else. Thats 4 hours driving for us!! Apparently samsung policy is that if it is less than 40 ' you have to deliver to the service centre. It takes up the whole backseat so i have to wait till i can go without the kids. The whole situation is just pitiful and i will never buy samsung again

The usb ports are a bit tricky to plug into.The biggest problem is that it freezes constantly and has to be turned off at the power (Like rebooting a computer)Sometimes you have to walk away for 1/2 an hour and come back and try again and it works no probs. Very frustrating!!!

Excellent

Samsung has always been the way to go when purchasing television that you want to perform well. You can definitely see the difference in picture quality when all of the different brands are displayed together at the store. The colour is outstanding and the picture is so clear. The menu features are great and so easy to use that you don't even need a manual to customise every option to your desire. The variety of ports to plug all of my peripherals into was a welcome discovery as well, and switching between them is an easy task. In my opinion 10 out of 10.

Nice tv with a great price. Good sound but lacks volume. Good picture quality but occasionaly artifacts show up. The screen locks up some times when switching between inputs and requires holding power button down on the remote to reset or switching it off at the wall, according to samsung its something to do with the power supply and is not an issue. I bought the LA40A550P1F 40' 1080P HD LCDTV and, for the most part, am very happy with it. It was targeted to be an entry level HD LCD TV, for the middle of the market, a cross-over product for those wanting the goods without huge outlays.. bearing that in mind, it does well. Tweak the screen settings and it will produce consistently brilliant results for DVD, Blu-Ray, and TV. Best used as a monitor.
Good picture. Good sound, although we now use a surround sound system instead of the TV speakers. Plenty of inputs and an optical audio pass-through. Price was good.
Tuner reception is poor, an $80 top-box has a better tuner. Non HD sources can display conversion artefacts at times, so it's best used with DVD players and tuners that upscale.

We own two Samsung LCD computer monitors and had a good experience with them, so far we haven't been disappointed with our LCD TV either. In-store we thought all the Samsung's had the clearest picture and best colour compared to most other brands in the 26-32' range. We bought a 32' as a second television and use it 8-10 hours a week primarily with Foxtel. Runs a little warm but no problems whatsoever with the screen or picture.
Clear picture, decent sound, no obvious problems with ghosted images or blurring, easy to tune channels, sturdy, stylish to look at.
Seems to attract static and dust, a bit confusing navigating the set-up menus to work out how to change default settings.
